Coutinho shines as Brazil beat Bolivia in Copa America Opener

Brazil won 3-0 against Bolivia to start the 2019 edition of Copa America with a win. Philippe Coutinho had a man of the match performance along with 2 goals, and Everton netted the third goal with the hosts cruising to victory.

Though the first half ended with 0-0, Brazil got a penalty with the use of VAR on the second minute of second half, allowing Coutinho to produce the lead. Three minutes later, Brazil put the contest beyond doubt with the best passage of play in the game. Roberto Firmino drifted in a perfect cross into the centre of the penalty area and Coutinho was on hand to nod in his second of the game from close range.  They continued to press their advantage and deservedly scored a third with ten minutes left in the tie. Substitute Everton cut inside from the left wing, evaded two defenders before smashing the ball past a motionless Carlos Lampe.

The matches between Venezuela and Peru, and Argentina and Columbia are scheduled for tomorrow.
