Ways You Can Foster Your Creativity

Creativity is the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality. Many consider creativity to be unlearnable – taking it as an innate talent. But, what if creativity is more a skill that can be learnt than an innate talent? Creativity is the ability to perceive the world in new ways, to connect seemingly unrelated phenomena and to develop new concepts and generate solutions. And, these are the skills that can be mastered if you practice.

So, if you want to be creative, you can. But, it requires your passion and devotion to become creative.

Here, you can explore the ways to foster your creativity.

1. Become Curious to learn new things:

Learning helps you explore new ideas. So, being curious to learn new things can always draw you towards innovation. As creativity begins with a foundation of knowledge, learning a discipline, and mastering a way of thinking, being curious can help you develop these all.  Curiosity develops your concentration, memory skills and ability to think, which indeed are the best ways to make you think differently and boost up your creativity.

2. Practice recognizing  patterns: 

It’s one of the ways to develop your creativity. Pattern recognition is a process in which we use multiple senses in order to make decisions. A simple example of pattern recognition is a sudoku game or a chess game, where you can find out patterns and solve difficult problems. And, getting to recognizing patterns always needs creativity. As physical activity is associated with improved affective experience and enhanced cognitive processing, exercise can help you combat mental fatigue or tiredness. So, investing time for exercise can also help your creativity flow.

6. Art and photography:

Art and photography are deeply creative activities. The ability to accurately produce or frame representations of what you see can change the way you view the world. Every time artists draw a person’s face or their surroundings, they are calling on the sum of their visual experience in order to synthesize certain details into a coherent drawing. Art and photography can develop your focus, thinking level and ability to analyze differently. This can certainly help you boost your creativity.

7.Brainstorm to Inspire New Ideas:

Brainstorming is a common technique in both academic and professional settings, but it can also be a powerful tool for developing your creativity. You can start writing down related ideas and possible solutions. Try creating many ideas in a short time span. Then, focus on clarifying and refining your ideas in order to arrive at the best possible choice.

8. Get enough sleep:

Sleep can enhance your creativity. REM sleep is beneficial to the creative process. A study has shown that this stage of sleep helps the brain connect unrelated ideas, which in turn aids creative problem-solving. Also, dreams can be beneficial in cementing experiences in our memory, and can often prove inspirational. So, getting enough rest and sleep is necessary to boost your creativity.
